German competition authorities have given Amadeus the go-ahead to buy TravelTainment, a VC-backed leisure travel technology and distribution business which recently took over Peterborough-based Access E-Media.
Amadeus’ short statement said that further information will be released when the deal closes.
Alan Kersley, managing director of Access E-Media, said that the deal ‘completed the circle’ for Access E-Media which could now add booking and pricing functionality to its tour operator content management and distribution tools.
He also said that TravelTainment’s booking engine had been rewritten for the UK market.
TravelTainment’s internet booking engine is used by Expedia, ebookers and Opodo in Germany, while its BistroPortal product is used by more than 4,000 German agencies.
