The toolkit forms part of ITM’s corporate social responsibility project, ICARUS.
For the first time, the toolkit includes guidance on managing emissions from car usage, meetings, events and hotels, as well as user friendly information on measurement, off-setting and carbon neutrality.
The re-draft has ensured the toolkit provides the most up-to-date information and guidance for ITM members and ICARUS subscribers (non-ITM members who pay an annual subscription fee to access the toolkit), with a total of 17 documents covering all aspects of emissions from travel and meetings programmes.
In a deal signed at the end of 2008, the tools are also to be provided to participants of WWF UK's One in Five Challenge scheme as part of a licensing agreement with ITM which will also see broad support from both organisations for each others' campaigns.
The toolkit review was undertaken by JMP Consultants.
ITM chief executive, Paul Tilstone, said: ‘We were delighted to secure the services and knowledge of JMP Consultants to undertake this re-draft.
‘That an organisation like WWF UK has agreed licensing terms with ITM for the new toolkit demonstrates the quality of information provided through Project ICARUS.
‘Whilst the toolkit has always been highly useful to those using it, we have now taken it to another level and look forward to adding to it further in the year ahead.
‘There's no doubt in my mind this is the only place companies can really go to get the latest guidance on reducing emissions in travel and meetings programmes.’
