Shearings migrates to Amadeus

12 Mar 2010
Shearings Holidays can now access global aviation, cruise and rail fares after signing a three-year agreement with Amadeus.

The agreement guarantees Shearings worldwide access to all inventories on the Amadeus global distribution system, enabling it to grow its product offering.

It also means Shearings' own product is bookable via the GDS.

Before selecting Amadeus, Shearings said it had undertaken a 'rigorous review' of all the GDSs on the market.

Denis Wormwell, chief executive of Shearings, commented: ‘Choosing a technology and GDS partner was a big decision for us, as it’s at the core of our business.

‘Amadeus clearly demonstrated why its technology is leading the field and throughout the transition they were incredibly supportive and professional.

‘We gave Amadeus a really tight timeframe in which to complete the project and they came up trumps.

‘As a result we were able to get up and running quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption.’

Tim Russell, managing director, Amadeus UK & Ireland, added: ‘We are delighted that our solutions have been chosen by Shearings.

‘We look forward to building on the close working relationship we have already established and are confident that our advanced technology will assist Shearings in achieving its ambitious growth strategy.’

Shearings previously worked with Worldspan.
