For the first time this year, TUI UK's Thomson brand is charging £10 per person for each transfer and £10 for every additional 5kg over the 15kg baggage allowance.
Sister brand First Choice already operates the charges for late bookings.
Prices apply to all bookings made within four weeks of departure date, except for Thomson and First Choice’s exclusive product, and TUI’s long-haul and Florida late bookings.
In a statement, TUI said the charges ‘have been introduced as a way of stripping out the cost for the budget conscious customer to enable those on a very tight budget to still go away this summer'.
The statement added: 'As was previously the case for First Choice bookings made during the lates period and is the case on Thomas Cook holidays currently, TUI UK can confirm that charges have been introduced on selected holidays for coach transfers and baggage excess.
‘By doing this, we allow our customers the choice and flexibility to decide for themselves where their money is best spent.’
TUI said the charges would be clearly displayed before the customer pays for the holiday.
