Thomson Tailormade relaunches with carbon offsetting

29 Jun 2009
Thomson Worldwide is rebranding as Thomson Tailormade, pledging a ‘strong dedication to environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism’.

Lesley Rollo, programme director, said the new name ‘defines more clearly the flexibility and individually tailored nature of the holidays and services we offer and differentiates us from the charter side of the business’.

Thomson Tailormade offers a choice of scheduled carriers, flexibility of durations and departure days and also touring and multi-centre products.

In addition, the new programme features a partnership with Climatecare that will see the operator pay for every flight booked from 24 June-30 September 2009 to be carbon offset.

Thomson Tailormade has also started auditing hotels with regards to their environmental and social impact, to help the operator recognise which are the most sustainable according to the Travelife sustainability system.

Highlights of the new brochure include: the Jungle Book Adventure, covering the major tiger reserves of North and Central India, from £995 per person for seven nights; Nile cruises on board Thomson Tailormade’s boat, the MS Magic, from £859pp; and five nights all-inclusive at the five-star Riu Guanacaste Hotel in Costa Rica from £969pp.
