Trailfinders sticks with Travelport

19 Mar 2010
Global distribution giant Travelport has signed a new, multi-year agreement with Trailfinders for its use of the Galileo platform.

The deal was signed after a GDS tender process and means that Travelport and tailormaking specialist Trailfinders will continue their association of more than 20 years.

Trailfinders managing director Tony Russell said: ‘The GDS tender process is one of the most important decisions we have to make, being so critical to the future success of our business.

‘The decision this time round took on an even greater resonance, with the process being conducted in a particularly challenging and competitive environment.’

Jérôme Moisan, Travelport UK and Ireland general manager, said: ‘We have an impressive working relationship with Trailfinders and through this agreement, Travelport will continue to provide dedicated service and support to a very loyal customer of ours.

‘Trailfinders has a terrific reputation in the travel industry for providing bespoke travel itineraries together with outstanding customer service and satisfaction.’

Trailfinders was founded in 1970 by former SAS officer Mike Gooley with a staff of four. Today it has more than 1,100 staff and has made travel arrangements for 11m clients.

Other Travelport brands include Worldspan, GTA, Octopus Travel and Needahotel.com.
