The multi-year deal with Travelport’s Galileo GDS will help Travel Counsellors using their agency’s inhouse Phenix dynamic packaging system to improve their margin.
Patrick Lukan, general manager for Travelport GDS, UK & Ireland, said: ‘Travel Counsellors is a long standing and loyal customer and we’re confident that this new agreement will help them continue to develop their business, both in the UK as well as globally.’
Travel Counsellors expects significant growth in 2009 for its corporate travel business, which has already seen turnover increase from £10m in 2004 to more than £40m in 2008.
Last year Travel Counsellors increased its overall turnover by 16% from £210m to £245m.
It has 200 support staff at its Bolton HQ and overseas offices, helping more than 1,000 Travel Counsellors who work from home. The company operates in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Canada and the US.
