travelsupermarket.com adds cruises

10 Jun 2009
Users of travelsupermarket.com can now search for cruise deals following a tie-up between the travel comparison website and Cruise118.

The exclusive deal sees independent cruise retailer Cruise118 provide a white label version of its cruise holidays on travelsupermarket.com.

The addition of cruises comes shortly after travelsupermarket.com unveiled its new look.

Managing director, Graham Donoghue, said: ‘The old site had worked well for us since its launch, but we really wanted to update it with a new, fresh and modern look that would motivate and inspire customers to research and book their travel via travelsupermarket.com.

‘The new site is a major step forward for us and we are delighted to be able to launch with the new cruise product.

‘The new platform opens up opportunity for a wide range of new product, functionality and content in the coming months.’

Cruise118 director, James Cole, added: ‘travelsupermarket.com has built its reputation on finding consumers the best possible deals, therefore it was essential they found a supplier that could deliver the best prices on thousands of cruise holidays with unrivalled levels of customer service.

‘That, coupled with our state-of-the-art IT systems meant there was great synergy between Cruise118 and travelsupermarket.com.

‘This is an exciting development for both businesses and we predict it will lead to further growth in the UK cruise market.’

Last year almost 1.5m Britons took a cruise holiday, 11% more than in 2007.

travelsupermarket.com currently searches: over 650 scheduled, low-cost and charter airlines from 38 suppliers; 200,000+ hotels from 55 suppliers; 200+ car hire providers from 22 suppliers; and ‘thousands’ of package holidays from 30 suppliers.

Part of the Mondeysupermarket.com Group plc, it also compares prices on travel insurance and airport parking.
